Dividend Growth Investing Enhanced With Options
The core focus of my portfolio revolves around dividend growth investing. I seek to invest in under or fairly valued companies that have low levels of risk to their business plans and have a history (and continued capability) of increasing their dividend payments. Companies that return capital to investors by both dividends and share repurchases are viewed favorably. Much of my analysis focuses on per share data trends to adjust for dilution of share issuance (or benefits from share repurchases) but I also take into account the trends of the business as a whole. A template of my investment review process can be found here [PENDING]. I am always open to comments on my how I can improve my analysis, if you have any ideas please send an email from the Contact Us widget below. However, please don’t take offense if I do not respond. This is a side endevor and I frequently miss emails from my website.
To enhance the returns of the portfolio I employ several complementary / supplemental investment strategies including: (i) the use of leverage (usually via margin loans, but also by selling puts); (ii) speculative positions in non dividend paying securities or derivatives; and (iii) market neutral strategies utilizing derivatives.
